WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT MY APPOINTMENT
Step 1 - A consultation with Nurse Kerry to discuss the treatment and the concerns you have
Step 2 - Kerry will take a small amount of the patients blood ( just like a blood test)
Step 3 - This blood will then be added to a centrifuge machine, which helps to seperate the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.
Step 4 - The platelets are then drawn up into a syringe and either directly injected into the treatment area, or microneedled in.
(Microneedling uses short, fine needles to puncture the skin. These small needles are used to “injure” the skin, prompting your skin to heal itself by producing elastin and collagen, and allowing the PRP to penetrate deeper.)
Step 5 - The PRP should remain on the patients skin for the rest of the day to maximise results.
WHAT RESULTS ARE EXPECTED?
The treatment will give you an instant skin glow on the days following the procedure and then the magic begins as the actual process of new cell formation starts. You will continue to see improvement over the next 30-90 days as you produce new cells in the treated area.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
Everyone’s needs are individual depending on the area to be treated. Kerry-Ann will discuss this during the consultation. The standard protocol is at least 3 treatments per year, but depends on the area being treated and individual circumstances. Hair restoration requires more treatment.
